U-10 Rocklin Quarry Blast Jamboree
Lady
Knights
2 - Kick Katz 0
The Vacaville
Lady
Knights
played an awesome game in this
Jamboree, dominate completely the
game scoring a fast goal within 45
seconds of the first half.
We had a great group
of supporters in this game who were
loud and cheered our girls during
the whole game. Sarah in the first
half and Shelby in the second half alternated as
goalies. Both played well and
contributed to the shut out.
Just at
the beginning of the
game, the Lady
Knights
had the
kick off. Buda started
the game with a soft
pass the ball to Shelby.
Shellby did a back pass
to, Ally who faced an
opponent and fought for
the ball.
An
opponent tried to kick
the ball and a rebound
allow Shelly to pass the
ball to Sarah. Sarah
vertically passed the
ball to Buda. After a
series of rebounds, it
was Ally who took
control of the ball and
dribbled starting near
the midfield line,
leaving behind the
defenders.
Ally
continued dribbling
toward the goal mouth
and fighting to keep
possession of the ball.
A rebound allowed Buda
to just place the ball
with a left soft kick
away from the goalie ...
Another team effort by
the Lady Knights players
...
The
Lady
Knights
defensive line was composed of
Vero on the left, Jessy as sweeper
and Natalie as a right full back.
Vero was able to contain the Kick
Katz attack who were constantly
trying to move the ball on the left
channel. Jessy played her best game
to date, always pushing up the
defensive line and clearing the ball
when needed. Natalie is strong on
the right side, her speed allows her
to recover the ball and block any
advance of the opponent.
Near the 8th
minute into the game, a fast play
was developed after a throw in
the left channel. Shelby passed the
ball forward to Emmy, but the goalie
was able to touch the ball while
Emmy tried to score. The ball
appeared to be in play and Buda took
the opportunity to score. However,
the referee invalidated the play due
to a charge to the goalie.
Our midfield line
was composed by Ally and Emmy, both
are handling the ball much better,
specially Ally who not only recovers
and retrieves the ball but also
dribbles propelling her team
forward. The first half was
primarily dominated by the
Lady
Knights,
the opponent featured a strong
offensive line, however, our
defenders were able to keep the ball
out of the penalty area.
The first half
continue to follow the same pattern,
with runs from both teams, specially
the opponent who tried to equalize
the game. The
Lady
Knights
offensive line was composed of
Shelby on the left, Buda at the
center and Sarah on the right. Mandy
and Maddy alternated as forwards in
this game.
During the second
half, the opponent tried to create
scoring opportunities, however our
midfielders and defenders were able
to steal the ball and maintain
possession. A fast dribble on the
left side by Ally resulted on a pass
to Mandy, who with a first touch was
able to beat the goalie; however,
the referee ruled that Mandy was in
an offside position and voided the
goal.
The second
Lady
Knights
goal was a team effort and a
beautiful goal.
Jessy
received the ball from an
opponents throw in, then she
did a first touch long pass
to Maddy, who dribble the
ball and performed a short
pass to Mandy, Mandy faked
and dribbled the ball among
3 defenders and did a short
pass to Buda.
Buda received
the ball with her left foot,
she positioned the ball from
her left foot to the right
prior to firing a superb
shot to the left upper
corner beating the goalie
for the second time.
The rest of the
game continued to be dominated by
the Lady
Knights.
Maddy, Buda and Mandy continue to
press trying to increase the score.
Ally, Emmy and Tay fought for the
ball at midfield and started the
weaving of passes up front. Sarah,
Natty, Jessy and Vero worked hard to
defend. It was a beautiful game to
watch. Our girls outshot the
opponent 15 to 4. Training is paying
off specially with the development
of the first touch by our players,
who are able to keep the ball under
control while in motion.
