This game was played on relatively heavy wind conditions at the Octo Inn
Sports Complex on Saturday, October 16, 1999. It started at 10:15 am. In the first quarter the Twister team scored its first goal. However, our
players tried to score several times. Lisa, Taylour, Corina, Bethany had several shots on
the goal. One of Corina's shots hit the left post of the Twisters' goalie.
In the second quarter, the Twisters scored their second goal.
However, all the offensive play was made by the "Lady Bugs" players. Our players tried
to score again while Bethany, Taylour, and Lisa had good shots. At the middle of this
quarter, Bethany took the ball on the left side of the field, and with
her characteristic style, dribbled several Twisters players. With a right kick Bethany
scored our first goal. A few minutes later, Lisa retrieved the ball on
the left side of the field, and with persistence and determination moved forward toward
the Twisters' goalie. Lisa worked so hard in this game and was rewarded with a well
deserved goal. She had a straight kick to the left side of the goalie, equalizing the
game. Near the end of this quarter, Taylour took possession of the ball
on the right side of the field, after a fast run Taylour shot on the goal scoring the
third goal for the "Lady Bugs".
The third quarter was played very well by both
teams, the "Lady Bugs" forwards were always trying to add more goals and the Twisters' players
also tried to tie the game. Sarah tried to score several times after dribbling with
long runs, however the Twisters' goalie defended really well. Wendy, Rebecca and Jessica
also defended very well in this quarter.
During the fourth quarter, the game was balanced and the ball was
transported in both fields with a more intense pace. One of the Twisters' forwards took
the ball from of a soft kick of the "Lady Bugs"
goalie and scored a goal, equalizing the game.
The players alternated positions within the game. Our goalies for this game were
Rebecca and Vanessa. Bethany, Wendy and Jessica played defense. The midfield also
played a great game. Our midfielders were Sarah, Corina, Rebecca and Gigi. Lisa, Taylour,
and Bethany played forwards in this game. |
