This game was played on October 02, 1999. It started at 11:30 am. The first quarter showed the aggressiveness of both teams in their pursuit
to score. Lisa had two shots on goal.
In the second quarter, our players came back to the field
determined to score. Taylour reacted fast to get the ball and scored with
a direct kick. A few minutes later, a Monarch's striker took the ball from our
goalie and scored the equalizer. In this quarter Rebecca played great defense and Sarah
had a nice shot on the goal.
The third quarter was also well balanced, Corina
and Lisa both tried to score for the "Lady Bugs". Wendy and Corina also defended really well.
During the fourth quarter, both teams tried so hard to win the
game. Jessica tried a nice shot on the goal. Bethany retrieved the ball
in the "Lady Bugs" field, and with a long run, dribbling the Monarch's defenders scored
the second goal with a soft kick to the left side of the goalie. The Monarch's goalie
could not stop the bouncing ball, which slowly crossed the goal line. As the minutes
passed by, a soft kick from our goalie, allowed a Monarch's striker to kick the ball and
tied the game. As the tradition continues, the members of the cheering crowd were really
supportive throughout the game.
